WHEN WE WERE APPROACHED BY SOH SPIRITS TO PRESENT A NEW LABEL DESIGN FOR THEIR NEW CITRUS LIQUEUR, OUR IDEAS WORKSHOP BEGAN RESEARCHING FAR AND WIDE MEIJI-ERA ADVERTISING, EXISTING LIMONCELLO BRANDS, TRADITIONAL JAPANESE PATTERNS, AND THE SPIRIT OF YUZU FRUIT ITSELF. QUICKLY WE ARRIVED AT A CONCEPT WITH THE CLIENT USING THE LEAF DEVICE TO HINT AT THE BEGUILING INGREDIENTS WITHIN. HIGHLIGHTING THE STRONGEST ASPECTS OF THE PRODUCT, IT’S USE OF WHOLE FRUIT, AND ITS GENTLE STRAW COLOR, WE THOUGHT IT BEST TO LET THE PRODUCT SHOW THROUGH THE CLEAR FROSTED BOTTLE AND ANGLE LABEL TO SEE THE PRODUCT. FOR MANY CUSTOMERS, THEY WILL ‘DISCOVER YUZU’, A NEW INGREDIENT POPULAR WITH MANY CHEFS. OUR OBJECTS WORKSHOP MADE MANY MOCKUPS OF LABELS AND SHOPPING CARTONS TO QUICKLY VISUALIZE DESIGNS.
